The Carnival at Rio de Janeiro

The Carnival at Rio de Janeiro

Welcome to the most fascinating Carnival on Earth. Rio de Janeiro houses the best party, a true legend all around the world.

The Carnival takes place the weekend before the Ash Wednesday, although the winner’s parade takes place the Saturday after. This tradition is very special in Brazil, specially between the Samba Schools throughout town. They prepared really hard and practice all year long and the first day of the Carnival is the contest to be part of the next year’s finals.

The Sambodrome is a venue closed to the Maracaná Stadium where the parade takes place, even the Carnival is present all over Rio de Janeiro, specially in the Ipanema area. Now, you can even be part of the parade on the first day! You just have to follow up the samba school and dance the night away, it doesn’t matter if you are good or not, you won’t affect the grades of the school.

If you are not able to make it to the 2016 Carnival of Rio, don’t worry, you can take samba classes or visit a school. Want more? you can go behind stage and try out the customes and learn all the details about this party where about 2 million souls are part of each night.

There are some tickets left for this year!
