Discover the rich Colonial background of Mexico in a 13-day journey through the center of the country in a special tour that will start in Queretaro and lead you through Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Guadalajara and Morelia.

Day 1: Welcome to Queretaro

Reception at the airport or bus station. During the afternoon you will have a trolley tour through downtown; you will pass through special landmarks such as the Corregidora House, the main square, the Alameda Park and the Republica Theater.

Overnight.

Day 2: Queretaro-San Miguel de Allende

You will visit San Miguel de Allende, a World Heritage Site. In here you will board a trolley bus to discover the town. Afterwards, you will continue to Guanajuato.

Day 3: Guanajuato-Independence Route

The trip starts with a stop at Dolores Hidalgo,where the Mexican Independence had begun; you will also visit the Jose Alfredo Jimenez Museum, the most popular of the Mexican music composers. Afterwards, you will visit the town of Atotonilco and San Miguel de Allende, one of the most beautiful colonial villages in the country.

Day 4: Guanajuato

Free morning. During the afternoon you will take a trolley tour to see the best places of Guanajuato and when the night falls, you will join a Callejoneada to walk the alleys in downtown along with musicians.

Day 5: Guanajuato

A special visit to the Mummies Museum will take place. Then, you will enter the Valenciana Mine and visit one of the most beautiful churches in the country. Afterwards, you will visit the Inquisition Museum, a house with a hidden basement discovered about 40 years ago which was a torture chamber during the Colonial Era.

Day 6: Guanajuato-Zacatecas

You will get to Zacatecas in the afternoon, just in time to visit the Eden Mine, the most important in the area. If the weather is good, you will take the aerial tramway to reach the top of the Bufa Mountain.

Day 7: Zacatecas-La Quemada & Jerez

This day you will visit the La Quemada Archaeological Site with its game ball and the Votiva pyramid. Then you will stop at the Jerez Magic Town.

Day 8: Zacatecas-Guadalajara

After breakfast, you will be taken to Guadalajara. where you will have a city tour to see landmarks like the Cathedral, the Agua Azul Park, the Globo Museum, and the Minerva Fountain. Free afternoon.

Day 9: Guadalajara-Tequila

A special visit to the town of Tequila where you will have a city tour and then a visit to the Colina de la Cruz, ending with a tequila tasting.

Day 10: Guadalajara-Morelia

After breakfast, you will hit the road and head to Morelia. Once there, you’ll have a city tour to visit the aqueduct, the Cathedral, the main square, and the Romance alley, among others.

Day 11: Morelia-Patzcuaro

Your first stop will be at Quiroga to discover the artisans and handicrafts. Then, you will stop at Tzintzuntzan, a unique archaeological site with round-shape buildings. Afterwards, you will arrive to Patzcuaro and visit the island of Janitzio in the middle of the lake, then the main square called Vasco de Quiroga, the 11 Patios House and the Company of Jesus Temple.

Day 12: Morelia-Convent Route

A day to follow the Convent Route that will lead you to the San Francisco Convent in Tarimbaro, built in the 16th Century. Then you will visit the towns of Yuridia, Moroleón and Cuitzeo.

Day 13: Returning Home

Free morning. You will be taken to the airport or bus station for your trip back home.
