The Bacalar Lagoon is a hidden treasure located at a short distance from the city of Chetumal, in the south side of the state of Quintana Roo. During this tour you will visit the Museum of the Fort of Bacalar where you will learn about the interesting past of Bacalar, in a time when pirates ruled the region; afterwards, you will also visit the main landmarks of the only one colonial city in the state.
Time for fun is on the way, and a visit to the Cenote Azul (Blue Cenote or Blue Sinkhole) will be your next stop. Be sure to pack your swimming suit as you will have a chance to take a dip into the cenote and admire its impressive nature. If you are starving after swimming a while, don’t worry, a delicious meal will be ready at a local restaurant at your arrival to the lagoon, just remember that your beverages are not included. After relaxing a bit and enjoyed your meal, it’s time to chill by the amazing Lagoon of the Seven Colors, where you will enjoy swimming in a private area. Keep in mind that there are many other activities you can enjoy on your own (with an extra charge of course) such as a boat ride by 3 incredible cenotes, or enjoy a tour through the pirates’ channel.
